A healthy body starts with a healthy mouth

A healthy body starts with a healthy mouth. Brushing our teeth, if done correctly, is something we do at least twice a day. It’s essential for removing plaque, preventing oral diseases, maintaining fresh breath, and keeping our teeth white. The right toothpaste and toothbrush are crucial for this. However, for many, this is not a given. We easily spend money on a good hair mask, the right face cream, or body lotion. But our mouth? Our teeth? Generally, they receive less attention. Did you know, for example, that the thickness and composition of your toothpaste and the hardness of the bristles can make the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy body?

Oxygen is the big secret

The medical science has known it for a long time: where there is oxygen, there are no bad bacteria. To keep your mouth and body healthy, daily optimal oral care is indispensable. About half of the adult population suffers from inflamed gums, with 10-15% of cases being severe. blue®m targets this specifically with products based on pure ingredients such as oxygen, cold-pressed organic honey, lactoferrin (an anti-inflammatory protein), and xylitol. Toothpaste fluoride free

The toothpaste fluoride free from blue®m was specially developed by Peter Blijdorp, an innovative maxillofacial surgeon with one goal: to help his patients. As little pain as possible, and as quick a recovery as possible after dental procedures. He translated the technique from Medicine, the hyperbaric oxygen tank, into a line of oral care products. The unique formula, which includes active oxygen, honey, xylitol, and lactoferrin, ensures optimal oral care. The toothpaste fluoride free helps keep teeth and gums healthy. It’s also perfectly suitable for daily care of implants, especially because it contains no fluoride. The formula helps keep teeth and gums healthy, is pH-neutral, free from abrasive ingredients, and contributes to the maintenance of white teeth.

Toothpaste with fluoride

At the request of several dentists, blue®m has also developed a toothpaste with fluoride. It fits within the philosophy of blue®m to offer as natural a product as possible. Therefore, a fluoride variant that occurs in nature, namely calcium fluoride, was chosen instead of the commonly used chemical variants sodium fluoride and stannous fluoride. This toothpaste improves gum condition, helps prevent cavities, and fights bad breath.

Fluoride or not? A common question…

Should you use toothpaste with or without fluoride? blue®m often gets this question. The opinions are divided, also within dentistry. In this article, several experts from the dental industry talk about the use of fluoride.

The right thickness and texture are essential

Research* has shown that there is a relationship between the thickness and texture of the toothpaste and the effective removal of dental plaque. A toothbrush is designed so that the tips of the nylon bristles optimally remove dental plaque. However, too thick a toothpaste creates a cushion on the nylon bristles, making the toothbrush less effective. The too thick toothpaste is actually in the way. Brushing your teeth with blue®m’s toothpastes is totally different than with other toothpastes. The unique, relatively liquid texture of these toothpastes sinks deep into the toothbrush, allowing the nylon bristles to do their job better. The brushing gives a pleasant tingling feeling. The teeth feel very smooth to the touch, without using abrasive ingredients. This is also much better for the gums, as they benefit from as gentle and friendly a daily brushing as possible. The whitening effect of the blue®m toothpastes is a nice bonus and ensures a noticeably radiant smile.

A soft toothbrush for daily use

Many people think that brushing their teeth with a hard toothbrush is the most effective. But nothing could be further from the truth. The softer, the better, is the advice. Using an ultra-soft toothbrush is the best way to optimally clean and care for the soft and hard tissues in the mouth. This prevents damage and receding gums in the long term.
