Weapon yourself against the corona virus!

Do you have regular inflamed gums? It is likely your body is constantly fighting against this low grade inflammation and your immune system will be weakened. Your immune system will get exhausted and does not function properly when bacteria or viruses come along. In this period of time where we have to deal with the threat of the corona virus we better safe all our energy and optimize our immune system.

Don’t panic

Although the media gets us quite worried, please stay calm. When we look at it realistically the mortality rate of this virus is quite low – just 2 to 3 percent of the people who get ill will eventually die. Not everyone develops the same symptoms or with the same intensity. In the past, other viruses that came along, for instance Ebola, SARS and swine flu, had a much higher mortality rate. It is just that nowadays we receive so many bad news from all over the world through social media that we almost automatically panic. But do you know that panic also influences our intestinal flora and weakens our immune system?

How does Corona infect you

As far as we know now the corona virus is spread through droplets transmitted by coughing or sneezing. The viral particles move to your lungs by entering the mucous membranes of your mouth, throat and nose. In the lungs the spiked proteins which are sticking out of the coronavirus particles hook onto cell membranes and the genetical material of the virus enters the human cell. They tell the cell to not do their normal job, but to multiply and help the virus expand.

Prevent yourself from getting infected

Although researchers are busy trying to find a medicine to cure this disease or even a vaccine to prevent us from getting infected, there is no remedy at the moment. But there are some precautions we can take

  • Hygiene – Wash your hands properly several times a day during 20 seconds with soap. So not just your palms, but also between fingers, under your nails, your forehands and your knuckles.
  • Try to touch as few doorknobs, machines or other surfaces in your environment that might be contaminated.
  • Avoid social meetings or at least stay at a save distance.
  • Don’t touch your face, eyes or mouth.
  • Hydrate yourself and drink fluids throughout the day. It is not quite proven, but it seems that the coronavirus doesn’t like heat, so tea or boiled water with herbs can be a good idea.
  • Keep exercising as much as possible and do it outdoors. Moderate regular exercise is proven to keep your immune system healthy along with the rest of your body.
  • Make sure your nutrition is rich of vitamins and minerals. Eat lots of vitamin-C containing fruits or additionally take a capsule of our Teeth & Bone formula three times a day.
  • Keep the mucous membrane of your nasal cavity moisturized by putting in some drops op sesame oil. Through your nose this will also reach your pharynx where it will form a protective layer on which viruses and bacteria cannot settle easily.

Get these tips to keep hydrated

Here are some recipes for a delicious cup of hot drink: Boil water and add some freshly squeezed lemon juice. Lemons contain a high level of vitamin C and help boost your immune system. As a friend of Bluem you know we use Manuka honey in our products and of course you can add some Manuka honey to your drink.

Don’t brush your teeth within 30 minutes after drinking because this can damage your tooth enamel.
Boil 1 liter of water, add a tea spoon of some or all of the next medicinal spices:
– fennel seed
– coriander
– aniseed
– cumin seed
– fresh ginger

Use a thermos to keep it warm during the day and drink a cup of it every hour. Not only will it keep you hydrated it will also have a great effect on your digestion and immune system.

How to make your own hand sanitizer

Mix 3 parts of isopropyl alcohol to 1 part of aloe vera gel. Add a few drops of tea tree oil. Not only is it known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties it also gives your sanitizer a nice smell.

Stay positive

And last but not least keep up the positive energy and stay healthy. Take care of yourself and others. Spread love not corona!5 / 5 ( 1 vote )
